First Contact with the Boy Scouts of Japan – Mutsu 1
Today I was invited by Scoutmaster Takase (Far left) to check out a cub scout “Beavers” event happening in my town of Mutsu. I had fun talking with the scout leaders about their small troup (kumi) of 3 scouts and a handful of cubscouts. I got to find out a little bit about Japanese Boy Scouts, as well as talk about BSA. Aparently two of the leaders there told me that next week they were going to start their woodbadge training! Good luck! (Aparently its just as tough in Japan as it is in the US.)

Wow. They have boyscouts in Japan? That’s super interesting, actually. Do they do it in place of bukatsu??
Actually in addition to bukatsu.
